Hurry up and wait...

We were supposed to get Tim all moved in to his new apartment (about 5 minutes away from me) while the kids were both gone.

Apparently Ms. Drinksalot (tenant that got evicted) was a smoker, too.  The landlord is a good guy and is having the whole place professionally cleaned and repainted.  While we're incredibly glad not to have to incur this cost, it's kind of a pain in the dupa to wait.  We had planned our trip "back home" around Em's therapy appointment.  Now we wait a few days (at least) past that.  :growl:  But on the upside, he'll have a nice, clean place to move into, and the kids will be able to "help" unpack like they wanted to.  (He's having movers do all the lifting, since he's still facing two surgeries.)

As far as the kids go, they're having a blast.  Em's written a few letters from camp, and some to her father, too.  Kasia is having a great time with her friend L and her family at Black Lake.  Tubing, playing games, fishing, and generally hanging out with each other is about as good as it gets.

As for me and Tim - we've been having a great time being adults...doing *ahem*  adult things...with no children to call or text distress texts or that are asleep in the next room.  ;P  (We generally don't do "adult things" when they're around, but we do show affection.  In fact, they're in a cuddle puddle and get hugs regularly from both of us.  They've never been better, honestly.)

Nothing really to say on the ex.  Mainly things still aren't getting done (no surprise there), bills are behind with his half missing (no surprise there, either), and now he's out of work until September due to his depression and anxiety.  *sigh*  I know he's struggling, but we had a heart to heart and I told him no one is going to fix this for him. He's got to do his own psych work.

So we're basically looking forward to about ten days in Cleveland.  My family gets to meet Tim.  The kids get to show him all our haunts.  And we'll all have a great time together.

Right now, I can't ask for much more than that.
